Cryptid Conspiracies:
The Lost Episode

About Cryptid

Cryptid Conspiracies: The Lost Episode is a new work that Wilson technical directed and scenic designed. The show takes place in an omnipotent living pocket dimension known as The Woods, who is represented by an actor and an ensemble which they command. This is why Wilson chose to represent aspen trees in his designs, as the trees of real world aspen forests connect underground to form a single massive organism. He also introduced an edit to the script that removed a deus ex machina, and replaced it with a magical UV effect that made the written words of a prophecy change instantaneously before the audience's eyes! About Production

Due to the natural schedule of College Night, these shows are often very limited on how much time, resources, and manpower they can be afforded (you can read more about the College Night Game below). As a result of this, Wilson had only two and a half weeks between his first readthrough of the official script and the due date for his designs, afterwards construction (which Wilson was also in charge of) would begin almost immediately. To make up for the time crunch, Wilson chose to forgo his usual perfectionism in favor of quick graphite and ink renderings that were still more than capable of effectively communicating the desired outcome. Many of these drawings are featured below:

About College Night

The University of Montevallo is regarding for having the oldest homecoming tradition of its kind in the United States. For over a hundred years the University has had two "sides" known as Purple and Gold who duke it out every winter in a competition to see who can create the best original theatre production. Each side essentially acts as a mock theatre company for a few months every year, and is funded by the university to do so. Purple side (and Gold too, I guess) is the reason for so many of my wonderful memories at the University of Montevallo. Checkout some of my favorite College Night memories below:
